Danny Bravens

I create films in order to explore different perspectives. What's it like to live on the streets, fight goblins, or run a tech company? Only in film can you see what it's like to live another life, hear the sounds of the city or the forest or feel the color of waking up in a distant place.

My first foray into professional filmmaking was in the garbage dump of Guatemala City. I had been volunteering there for a year before joining a documentary film crew as a Producer. 6 months later I moved to Austin, TX to continue following my dream.

Now, 10 years later, I've been in almost every role on set on almost every set imaginable. I've done storyboards for numerous feature films and commercials, designed and built sets, shot and edited documentaries and commercials, and have directed dozens of local, regional, and national (Mexico) commercials as well as my narrative and documentary passion projects.

Currently, I'm working on many writing and directing projects. I'm directing a docu-style series for social media follows people experiencing homelessness on the streets of Austin. I'm the writer on an animated feature film called Hershel and The Hanukkah Goblins, based on a Caldecott Award-winning children's book. A renowned Disney Alum is attached to Direct.

Whatever I'm working on, I always strive to take a deep dive into the mind of my subject--whether that's a client's deeply-loved business, a person living on the streets, or an animated character from another world--in order to show what life is like through their eyes.
